Of all the super foods and green giants, kale is THE king of the garden. It’s no secret that kale is one of the healthiest and most nutrient dense foods you can eat. Because of all the amazing benefits, we just have to share them with you. Plus, check out a few of our favorite simple recipes you can try this week. All About Kale

This all-powerful veggie, kale, is a member of the cabbage family which is related to other cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, collard greens and brussels sprouts. There are many different types of kale; the leaves can be green or purple in color, and have either a smooth or curly shape. We juice and bottle up all of it!

Kale Juice Nutrition

One serving of this  green king gives you more than the daily quota of vitamin C, twice the amount of your immune-boosting vitamin A (more than carrots) and nearly 7 times the recommended amount of vitamin K. Kale also contains two powerful antioxidants (lutein and zeazanthin) that have been shown to help improve eyesight and is one of the vegetables with the highest ORAC rating (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) which measures a foods’ ability to scavenge free radicals.

single cup of raw kale (about 67 grams or 2.4 ounces) contains:

  • Vitamin A: 206% of the RDA (from beta-carotene).
  • Vitamin K: 684% of the RDA.
  • Vitamin C: 134% of the RDA.
  • Vitamin B6: 9% of the RDA.
  • Manganese: 26% of the RDA.
  • Calcium: 9% of the RDA.
  • Copper: 10% of the RDA.
  • Potassium: 9% of the RDA.
  • Magnesium: 6% of the RDA.
  • And it contains 3% or more of the RDA for Vitamin B1 (Thiamin), Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin), Vitamin B3 (Niacin), Iron and Phosphorus.
